Hello everyone and welcome to week 6! I can't believe there is only a month left! Crazy! Our Character Strength of the Week...Bravery. A perfect segue into this particular strength, so many of of our soldiers, past and present show bravery in many ways.  WHAT IS BRAVERY? To be brave is to face your challenges, threats, or difficulties.  It involves valuing a goal or conviction and acting upon it, whether popular or not.  A central element involves facing – rather than avoiding – fears. This can be: Physical bravery - requiring us to do something physically challenging like running a race or getting a spider out of the bathroom.  Psychological bravery - working on owning all the parts of ourselves and accepting them as a valuable part of who we are.  Moral bravery - standing up for what is right, even if it isn't a popular opinion or others don't.  Technologies Monday: Please check in with your child to make sure they have gathered and packed their tower items ready for  tom

Good afternoon everyone, I feel that all students are all working well as a group to be at their best and make sure that their words and actions contribute to a positive classroom environment.  This is particularly evident in our writing process and Follow Freddy investigation at the moment...you will see the results of their hard work on display at our Open Classroom event on  Wednesday 13th September ! Character Strength of the Week... WHAT IS SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE? This is a fantastic one to discuss this week as it is such a key skill...being aware of others and being mindful of our own behaviour goes a long way.  In class we talk a lot about time and place...knowing the right moment to crack that joke! When a person knows what makes other people tick, he or she is displaying social intelligence.  They’re aware of the motives and feelings of themselves and others, and how to fit into different social situations.  They can feel comfortable and say the right thing whether they’re in t

Welcome to Term 3!! Yewwwww. Character Strength of the Week...Prudence. WHAT IS PRUDENCE? Prudence means being careful about your choices, stopping and thinking before acting. It is a strength of restraint.  When you are prudent, you are not taking unnecessary risks, and not saying or doing things that you might later regret.  If you are high in prudence, you are able to consider the long-term consequences of your actions.  Prudence is a form of practical reasoning, the ability to examine the potential consequences of your actions objectively, and to control yourself based on that examination. Prudence involves far-sighted planning as well as short-term, goal-directed planning. It is often referred to as cautious wisdom, practical wisdom, and practical reasoning. A couple of reminders to help the term start as smoothly as possible... Hello everyone and welcome to week 9.  Can't believe that there is only 2 weeks left of school. Tminus 13 days until I head to Darwin. You little beauty. Our Character Strength of the Week...Perspective What Is Perspective? Perspective means the ability to see the bigger picture in life.  Perspective is about being able to see the forest as well as the trees, to avoid getting wrapped up in the small details when there are bigger issues to consider.  While listening to others, perspective helps you to think about life lessons, proper conduct, and what’s best for the situation being discussed. This ability to look as a whole, or to think in big terms, helps you to offer good advice.  This is one I can personally find challenging when I am caught up in the grind of life...small things feel super important and it can be hard to see the wood for the trees.  I am working on trying to broaden this perspective and I will often ask myself 'will this matter this much in 5 days/weeks/mont

Hello parents and welcome to week 8. I had the pleasure of meeting a football icon yesterday. The full back of the Sharks league team Reece. I also got a photo with David Mundy, apparently he was good at football too. First Reconciliation & Family Mass - A  massive  thank you to all of the Year 3 families that came to Mass on Saturday night...it was a lovely time and a wonderful way to celebrate our First Reconciliation candidates and spend time together in prayer and companionship. Our Character Strength of the Week...Perseverance: What is Perseverance... Perseverance is sticking with things. It means being hardworking and finishing what is started, despite challenges and obstacles that arise. Sometimes we must dig deep and muster the will to overcome thoughts of giving up.  Some great questions to discuss around the dinner table include: When things get tough, do you keep on trying?  Do you finish what you start?  Stationery ...it is that time of the term when many pencil cases a
