Term 2, Week 6

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to week 6, I hope that you all enjoyed the weekend...both freezing cold and super warm this weekend. Our Character Strength for this Week...Love! St Valentine is the patron Saint of love. He did not listen to the emperor at the time who decreed those young men in the army were not to be wed.  Love as a character strength, rather than as an emotion, refers to the degree to which you value close relationships with people, and contribute to that closeness in a warm and genuine way.  Love, as a character strength really refers to the way you approach your closest and warmest relationships.  Love is reciprocal, referring to both loving others and the willingness to accept love from others Our Reminders for this Week... Please see the below from Mrs Haines, she also emailed this information out directly. Dear Year 3 Families, The OLC Dance Concert is coming up- WEEK 8 Friday 16 th   June, starting at 11am. Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a cracking weekend. Character Strength of the Week... Leadership ...a difficult skill to master but one that many are capable of showing in a variety of ways. It involves encouraging and inspiring the group to achieve the objectives of the group whilst maintaining positive and happy relationships. This is a great chance to discuss what leadership looks like for your child. What traits do good leaders have?     Do they know good leaders?  How can they build these skills within      themselves? A few reminders for the coming week...   Good afternoon parents, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all you amazing mum's a very very Happy Mother's Day...this job is wonderful and rewarding but it is also difficult and draining and all of the things in between. Character Strength of the week...KINDNESS... One of the many joys of my job in working with students is seeing the ways in which they exhibit their individual strengths...this one in particular, I see A LOT!! I am always blown away by the kindness and consideration our young people show to others.  Simply put,  kindness is being nice to others. Kindness is being generous with others, giving your time and talent to support those who are in need.  Kindness is being compassionate, which means to really be there for someone, listening intently to their suffering or just sitting with them and silently supporting them.  Such compassion involves a deep concern for the welfare of others. Kindness is also being nurturing and caring to others — to enjoy doi

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to week 3. I hope that you enjoyed the weekend, managed to avoid the bugs going around and enjoyed some time recharging and reconnecting. Thank You: A   HUGE   thank you to those families that made the commitment to attend our Year 3 family mass and Reconciliation Commitment Mass on Saturday night. It was lovely to see the delight from the parishioners in having the young crew there and our families making that commitment to walk alongside their children as they take their next step on their faith journey. A reminder for any   Reconciliation candidates who DID NOT attend   on Saturday night that you will need to contact Fr Archie   directly   to organise a time to undertake the commitment ceremony...perhaps it can be arranged on a date where a large number of candidates may be free so that you can do it all together? Character Strength of the Week... Our character strength for this coming week is Judgement...I know that this can be a word that we are
