Good afternoon parents, 
Can you believe that Week 9 is here already? 


Character Strength:
This week our character strength of focus is Honesty, not just in telling the truth but in being authentic within ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world.

St Gertrude the Great is known as a powerful champion of truth and justice. 

She was a Benedictine Nun who dedicated her work to theology, learning and writing.  

  • Do you like to know the truth? 
  • Do you like people to be truthful to you? 

A few reminders for the final couple of weeks...





Interviews:
A massive thank you to all the parents that I met with last week, whilst it was a busy time it was really wonderful to have a chance to meet you all and talk about your child.

Wheels After Meals:
Mr Lee is bringing this super fun initiative back for Tuesday this week, your child is welcome to bring their wheels in and enjoy rolling around on Tuesday once they have been dismissed from lunch.

Please make sure that your child has their helmet and any additional safety equipment. Scooters and skateboards can be left near Mr Lee's back office door.
Science:
Mr McSevich has been working hard with the students in Science and this Monday students will be making a Sun Dial Watch. 

Mr Mac came in and spoke to the students on Thursday to clarify what is needed and answer any additional questions.

Students are asked to bring the following in with them for their lesson on TUESDAY. Items that can be used to make:

  • A face
  • A wrist band- these will need to be attached to their wrist so they will need something to assist with that.
Mr Mac has spent a lot of time discussing this concept with the students so they should all be clear on what is required.

We do appreciate that many of you would love to help, but Mr Mac does ask that you allow your child to think of ideas and choose items themselves that could work. It will be assembled in class and should be able to be done so by your child.

Hello everyone and welcome to week 9.  Can't believe that there is only 2 weeks left of school. Tminus 13 days until I head to Darwin. You little beauty. Our Character Strength of the Week...Perspective What Is Perspective? Term 2, Week 4

  Good afternoon parents, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all you amazing mum's a very very Happy Mother's Day...this job is wonderful and rewarding but it is also difficult and draining and all of the things in between. Character Strength of the week...KINDNESS... One of the many joys of my job in working with students is seeing the ways in which they exhibit their individual strengths...this one in particular, I see A LOT!! I am always blown away by the kindness and consideration our young people show to others.  Simply put,  kindness is being nice to others. Kindness is being generous with others, giving your time and talent to support those who are in need.  Kindness is being compassionate, which means to really be there for someone, listening intently to their suffering or just sitting with them and silently supporting them.  Such compassion involves a deep concern for the welfare of others. Term 4, Week 6

Hello everyone and welcome to week 6! I can't believe there is only a month left! Crazy! Our Character Strength of the Week...Bravery. A perfect segue into this particular strength, so many of of our soldiers, past and present show bravery in many ways.  WHAT IS BRAVERY? To be brave is to face your challenges, threats, or difficulties.  It involves valuing a goal or conviction and acting upon it, whether popular or not.  A central element involves facing – rather than avoiding – fears.
